Buy a domain name without buying a plan

  Hello, I am currently operating my blog (FeedMeQC) with a free plan. All I would like to do is purchase the domain name ‘feedmeqc.com’ but it won’t let me unless I also buy a premium plan… It forces the premium plan into my cart and when I try to exit out of it it also deletes the domain!
  Is this correct? Is there any way that I could simply purchase the domain name without the plan?

  Hi there,

  Unfortunately, you have to have a plan to do this (check out this forum post for a similar forum post).

  However, even if you still have to have a plan for this, you can also buy domains elsewhere and direct them to your WordPress.com site. If this sounds interesting, check out domain mapping (this article explains what to do after you’ve bought the domain elsewhere).
