Buy a domain with another company, web space??

Please help me to undestand, a friend of mine javiermelocoton.com bought the domain from arsys.es. He use hostgator and he’s talked to me about wordpress. But i think that wordpress is only the tool to make the web site, like a software.
If I buy a domain with only 5mb of web space (only $5) i think that wordpress will not earn money from me. I need a bigger web space, ftp?The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I don’t understand the question.
You have a free wordpress.com blog http://taniamarquez.wordpress.com/
You can buy a domain and the mapping upgrade and have http://taniamarquez.com/ and it’ll still be a WordPress.com blog. You don’t need to get independent hosting and everything.
Why do you want to move to a different web host?

I will try to explain better. My friend javiermelocoton.com is a singer, he asks me to make for him a new web site, i said to him that i know how to make a web site only with htlm codes, i have to learn how to use wordpress, that’s why i made my blog.
I need to buy a new domain (is everything for my friend) example.es (has to be .es). He talk to me about a website where i can buy a domain for only 5$ I smiled because is tooo ship, i saw that they only gives 5mb of web space. I have to create from 0 a new ebsite, i don’t need a mapping.
If i buy that 5$ domain with only 5mb of webspace i think that i will need more web space for photos, mp3,etc..
i think that wordpress is only a tool to desing the webpage, but i don’t think that wordpress will store all the information inside.
I don’t understand very well.

Do you counsel wordpress.com?:
1. To buy “www.example.es” from another company ($5 per year with only 5mb of web space)
2. To register a new blog “example.wordpress.com”, create it with photos, biography, youtube videos, links to mp3……
3. Pay to wordpress the domain mapping ?
(All the files will be really stored into wordpress.com servers)OR DO YOU COUNSEL THIS?:

Download the software from wordpress.org (zip file, that extracted into my computer is a folder with a lot of .php files) This has to be installed into the FTP ? is this that i don’t undestand, if i buy only 5mb of web space, where will be all the files stored?THANKS A LOT FOR YOU UNDERSTANDING AND PATIENCE :)

You can consider a third option:
– hire a different hosting company that offers much more space than 5 MB and install WordPress.org there.

Hi, as i can understand, you can buy a domain name with WordPress (Getting a domain name from another Webhoster, is not a good idea although). But you can have a free domain name, if you just leave it as .wordpress.com
*WordPress is NOT only a Website Maker, its a Blog Hoster, which you can make Blogs for free (Except if you buy upgrades and more). You can also make something similar like Website with WordPress and you don’t need another webhoster to buy a domain name.
