  I have some questions. can someone email me? If I pay the 99 bucks do I then own rights and to ensure no one hacks my site or takes it over?

  This forum is mostly run by volunteers, so nobody is going to email you, sorry.

  If by paying the 99 bucks you’re referring to the upgrade bundle, then no – you don’t own rights. As for security, there are many things you can to to avoid your site getting hacked or taken over, but you won’t get that from buying any upgrades.

  Copyright and security at WordPress.com are the same for all blogs. In other words, WP.com always does its best to protect you from hackers. To do your part in protecting your blog, change your password frequently, change the password on the email associated with the blog too on a regular basis, and never use the same password on more than one site.
