  Hi!
  I’m sending this email because i’m constructing my portfolio on wordpress and i want to be the owner of the domain, i know that i need to buy the domain, but my question is because in the page, in the botton appears “Blog at WordPress.com. | Theme: Oxygen by DevPress.” if i buy the domain this will desappear from the page???

  Hi,

  If I am wrong, someone please correct me. But, no, as far as I know you would need to do more than simply buy the domain. You would need to either move to a self-hosted WordPress site, where you could customize the theme, or if you want to stay on WordPress.com, an upgrade to a premium theme might eliminate this, or if you subscribed to the custom design, you could eliminate it yourself.

  No the footer is required even for VIP hosting which starts at $ 20,000 / year

  the only thing that buying a domain name and mapping it (two actions) changes is the URL displayed when people visit your blog – all the original terms of service still apply.

  Just to be very clear about this there is no upgrade that you can buy that allows you to remove the footer links.
