Buying a domain

  Hello! I am building a blog for my school’s religious center, but I do not have the financial information needed to register for a domain right now. Can I create the blog now using a free domain and buy a domain later? Thanks!

  Absolutely, you can create your blog using the free domain and buy a domain later at any point of time.

  Hi there,

  As @raunaqchawhan mention, absolutely. What you could do is create a site with a free WordPress.com blog address. You are assigned a .wordpress.com or a .home.blog subdomain whenever you create a site with WordPress.com, so you can just use that as the domain as you build the site and determine whether or not this is the platform you want to use. Once you are developing the site, you can make the decision to transfer the domain over:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/

  map and existing domain:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/

  Or even creating a new one:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/register-domain/
