Buying a domain from wordpress

  If i buy a domain here and then later dont want to use wordpress, how do I keep the domain for myself?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi distopiaaudio,

  No problem, there are a couple of options:

  1. Transfer the domain away from WordPress.com or
  2. Keep the domain registered with us and point it to another site by changing the name servers

  Thanks, are these options free? I thought I saw that having a wordpress site automatically redirect to an external link costs a monthly fee

  There’s no charge to do either of those.
