Buying a domain without Premium

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello there.
I am trying to buy a domain for my blog beautinessandsoul.wordpress.com
but it says that beautinessandsoul.com is ‘Included in WordPress.com Premium’. I have purchased domains for other blogs, costing about 18$ for a year (if I remember correctly), but a Premium account is too expensive.
    What can I do?

    Thank you in advance

  • Hello,

I believe you can purchase a “Personal” WordPress.com account for 3.99 per month.

Or you can also look into having an external service host your domain. Here is a link to a few choices

    Hope this helps

    Hi Eleni,

I have purchased domains for other blogs, costing about 18$ for a year (if I remember correctly), but a Premium account is too expensive.

You can register a domain using any paid plan, including Personal. Start by choosing the plan from this page:

    https://wordpress.com/plans/

Then add the domain you would like to use.

Custom domains are now only available with paid plans — they use to be a standalone upgrade but this was discontinued last year. The Personal plan is the cheapest option if you are upgrading primarily to register a domain.

Come back to me if you have any questions.

    Thank you both!
I didn’t realize that buying a domain with Free plan is not an option any more…
