buying a Premium Theme

  Hi. I am in the process of upgrading my wordpress site to a premium level ( purchasing a domain) I have a few questions that I am hoping the community can help me with.

  Can I upgrade my wordpress site through wordpress.com and pay the yearly fee AND still buy a theme and plug it in…..or do I have to secure a domain through another provider ( Go Daddy etc..) in order to use a 3rd party theme?

  The Theme I want to use is here http://themeforest.net/item/gauge-ultimate-review-theme/8676079?ref=athemez

  Can I buy the theme now and use it in place of my current one before upgrading to my own domain or does the FREE WordPress option not have a custom theme option.

  Firstly, I hope you checked the Plans page to understand what are you going to get as part of the premium plan.

  Nope, we can only activate themes on WordPress.com. We can’t plug it in or add theme files regardless of the plan.

  So buying it from that link is not useful. You can’t use the theme.

  Gauge theme you linked is not available on WordPress.com Theme Showcase. So you cannot use Gauge theme on WordPress.com.

  I also encourage you to check the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org.
