Buying Credits
-
I need to buy 10 credits for domain mapping. When you use options/domains, or upgrades/domains, it tells me I need 10 credits but have none, but does not give a button to buy the credits. On the upgrade page, it only supplies buttons to purchase credits for css, space upgrades and private users… no generic button to just buy credits at whim.
HELP! Where the heck do you go to just buy 10 credits?

This came up about a week ago:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=7810&page&replies=6If you don’t get the button to purchase the credits by going through the domain process, send a feedback using the button in the upper right corner of your screen (it won’t be available until Monday, though).
-
It should be like this:
1. Options > Domains
2. Enter domain name
3. Click AddNow you get 1 of 3 things happen:
1 – Nameservers are not yet correct. This is an essential first step. Go set them then come back.
2 – You have not got 10 credits but the nameservers are good so go to Paypal and pay.
3 – You have already got 10 credits, click to make the switch happen. -
Ahhh….! glad I found this.
So this means the option to buy credits does not even appear until the DNS is set up. OK.
It might be a good idea to say up front that domains do cost credits on the first form page.

I’m glad I found this too. It would indeed be helpful to mention it on the page. Also, it’s not an FAQ. As far as the FAQ is concerned Credits don’t exist. I suspect a small paragraph on Credits, their use, validity period, purchase mechanism, refund mechanism, etc. would be useful.

this is really confusing, even the explanation of clicking on the top right hand corner for feedback – what are you talking about? There is no link in the top right hand corner on any page for feedback or support. WordPress should update this procedure and instructions.

i fee this must to updated right now…i spent an ample time in searching answer for this very FAQ

I don’t see where I can add credits for a domain mapping *due to expire*, I only see it for *new* mappings.
-
In that case the expiry date is important. Support will open again on Monday and you can use this link to contact staff during support hours http://wordpress.com/contact-support/ but if your expiry date is before Monday, then post that here as staff monitor these threads.

Well, I have my domain and still trying to buy those miserable 10 credits. Almost giving up.

-
Also find this confusing… Should say ” To avoid charging you for credits you might not use, we’ve hidden the Buy Credits link until your domain name servers are configured correctly.”
-
The domain mapping/purchasing process is being changed soon and the light of experience has shaped it’s next form :)
