Buying domain and personal plan

  Hi,

  I am looking at purchasing a domain. I wondered if I can buy the domain and then upgrade to a personal plan at a later date? Is that possible?

  I’m not in a position to activitely start using an email address but don’t want to miss the domain!

  You can definitely purchase a domain now and then a plan later.

  To register a domain, please follow the instructions here:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/register-domain/

  Once you are ready to purchase a plan, you can do so here:

  http://wordpress.com/plans

  To note, without the plan, your .wordpress.com address and not your domain will be the primary domain and the domain will forward to the address:
