Buying domains on WordPress.com

  Hi,

  How can I buy a new domain on WordPress.com or transfer an existing one WITHOUT getting a premium account? I’d like to use your platform but don’t need any of the other premium features – only the domain names. Whenever I try to map a domain or buy a new domain, a premium account is automatically added to my shopping cart.

  Hello –

  To use a custom domain, you’ll need to add WordPress.com Personal plan. This will allow you to 1. register a custom domain or 2. map a custom domain that you already own.

  You can add this from My Sites > Plans or https://wordpress.com/pricing/
