Buying my domain and the effect on my Google/search engine referrals.

  Hi All,

  I hope someone can clear something up for me.

  I have a blog https://belfastchildis.wordpress.com/ and I have been running this for a few years and have built up a substantial Twitter/FaceBook etc followers. Also I currently get a lot of referrals from Google/Bing/Yahoo ect and this seems to be increasing daily. I have had over 120,000 hits to the site and I am extremely pleased with this and am therefore nervous about upgrading or buying the ‘ Register belfastchildis.com for only $18 per year ‘ option.

  My question is this. If I do register/buy belfastchildis.com how ( If at all) will this effect my referrals and social media followers. At the moment when a search engine refers someone to my site it is the free site belfastchildis.wordpress.com – if I buy belfastchildis.com will the search engines know this is still my site and still send/refer people as before. And will the social media platforms also know this is connected to my old site ? I just want to know that nothing will change and I will still get the same traffic and referrals as before.

  If this did effect my current position and I was faced with starting to build up my traffic/follwers from nil again , then I would not proceed as It has taken me a long time to get to my current position.

  Also, if I register belfastchildis.com , will I have more editing/plugin options or are these just available in an upgrade, which I can’t afford at the ,moment.

  And finally if I do own belfastchildis.com , will I be able to link it to my adsense account and start making a few pennies from the site.
