Buying ONLY domain name

  Hello. I have a free account and all I want is to pay only for a domain name. However I keep being charged in my basket with other servises rising the amount to 99 dollars per year. My question is simple: Can I only buy a domain so that e.g from abc.wordpress.com I get the domain abc.com with no other charges other than this?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  With WordPress.com you can register a domain, look into this support document Register a Domain
  Domains now come with Paid Plans only, you can even choose a basic Personal plan as well, have a look at the options here Plans

  You can buy the plan by going to MySites–>Plan
  Then register your domain by going to MySites–>Domain

  Hi there,

  If you want to use the domain with a WordPress.com site, you will need to purchase a plan.

  If you want only the domain, and use it somewhere else, you can register a domain only via https://wordpress.com/domains

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-domain-without-creating-a-site/

  Note that the moment you try to connect a domain purchased there to a WordPress.com site, you’ll again be required to purchase a plan.
