buying wordpress domain

    I purchased a domain through wordpress thinking that it could be looked up and located by a search engine. What I expected was to be able to type in http://greenmansgardenpdx.com from google search, and have my blog come up. This does not seem to be the case, however. I’m not terribly computer savvy, so perhaps someone could explain to me if this is what is supposed to happen, and if so, what the point is of buying a wordpress blog address that can still only be located within wordpress. Thanks

    IT takes Google up to six weeks to index new URLs. Just wait. And blog, lots. And link your username to your blog. And leave lots of comments. And write stuff other people will want to link to.

    The NEW name is, as far as google is concerned, an entirely new blog. It will take time for this “new” blog to outrank the old URL.
