  I bought my own custom domain, can I use it with wordpress without upgrading from the free plan? if so how do i go about it?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  No, it requires an upgrade. The Use a Domain You Already Own (Domain Mapping) support page says:

  Do you already own a domain name? If you would like to use it here on WordPress.com all you need to do is “map” your existing domain to your site. You will need a WordPress.com Premium or Business plan on your site in order to map a domain.
