bypass log in page
-
when my friends click to view my blog on their device they are directed to the login page. How do I set it up so that it takes them straight to my blog post instead of the login page?

Hi,
It is on the public setting.
When someone who is not logged in clicks on the link to my blog post the link will appear as:
“””Log into your account or visit —— page.”””
They can see my page, but not without having to do the above process first.
Is there a way around this?

Hi
If you say it’s set to public and still asking for login then will tag the staff to the thread as they will be better positioned to assist you. -
Hi there,
What is the URL of your site, and what is the link that you’re sharing with your friends?
-
Initially I sent the URL of my homepage, and it brought up the sign in option.
However, if I send the URL of the actual blog, it goes straight to the blog.
-
Could you tell us what both of the URLs you used are, so we can take a closer look at both of those pages from our end?
I see you have more than one site with us, so we’re not sure which site you are having issues with. Is this your homepage URL? https://blaineclancy.wordpress.com/
And this is the URL you are sharing with others? https://blaineclancy.wordpress.com/blog/
If not please let us know the correct URLs you are using. Thanks for the additional info!

The above is correct.
https://blaineclancy.wordpress.com/ is my homepage URL – when I share this with others and they open on mobile devices, it will ask them if they want to log in, or to visit the site.
https://blaineclancy.wordpress.com/blog/ – when I share this URL it goes straight to the blog without asking if they would like to sign in.
-
Hmmm… I am able to visit https://blaineclancy.wordpress.com/ without issue, and I do not see a login message of any kind.
You can see what I see at this link: https://d.pr/i/IY5ZLK
I do see that you have removed the “private” setting on your site recently, so it is now public, but it can be the case that your browser will “cache” an out of date view that will not show this change, but continue to (incorrectly) show the login message.
With this in mind please clear your browser cache and cookies, and then you should be able to see the site without issue. It is fully public now which I can confirm, and anyone should be able to visit it.
