Ç in abnormal size in menu

    I used the Ç in the menu, the ç is bigger than the other letters example: ‘orÇamento’ … as wheels the letters of the menu are capital letters I can not decrease the size of the letter.

    Hi extinal,

    Thanks for reporting this, I see what you mean. I’ve done some testing and have been able to replicate the size increase with other accented characters too. I’m going to create a bug report so our developers can take a closer look at what is causing this to happen.

    Out of curiosity — have you noticed this happening on other areas of the site when using Lodestar, or just the menu?

  • Thanks for reporting this issue, @extinal!

    Unfortunately, this looks like it’s an issue with the Karla font being used in the theme — it does not have a complete character set.

    The font is loaded from Google Fonts and will be fixed in the theme once it’s made available there: https://github.com/google/fonts/issues/1232

    In the meantime, I think the best work around would be to try one of the Custom Fonts available on WordPress.com. You can see them by navigating to My Site > Customize > Fonts.

    In that panel, you will see two dropdowns for Headings, and Base Font — the Base Font is what’s used in the menu. I did some testing, and the following ones seem like a pretty good match in style and character to Karla, but display ‘Ç’ correctly:

    * Arimo
    * FF Basic Gothic
    * FF Dagny Pro
    * Lato
    * Noto Sans

    Please give that a try, and let us know if it takes care of the issue for you!
