.ca domain transfer

  I have a customer who is currently using a .ca domain and is interested in replacing his current site with a wordpress site on wordpress.com. As he is interesed in keeping his .ca domaion, can it be easily transfered to wordpress.com?

  Hi inforestcreations,

  It’s fairly easy, yes. Everything is explained here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/prepare-domain-for-transfer/

  Note that you can only do that for paid plans (https://en.support.wordpress.com/plan-features/).

  Hi @inforestcreations,

  Just to confirm, a .ca domain cannot be transfered to WordPress.com. It would have to be mapped instead: http://support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/

  Hi Michel,

  I just wanted to confirm that we are currently unable to accept incoming transfers for .ca domains. Therefore, you will need to follow @torres126’s recommendation of connecting it to WordPress.com with domain mapping instead:

  http://support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/

  
  @flavbob — thanks for including the information about paid plans. Domains with any of these supported extensions can be transferred to WordPress.com :)
