    Hi @saraakther93,

Am not sure what is the question about, could you please clarify it?
If you could provide your website address too, then we can point you in the right direction for support.

    Hi @maksimurasov,

On the WordPress website, in an article post, text edits were made i.e. text was deleted from the article post, and then the site was published, so the text is not visible on the website.

However, in the google search options, when I click on the website’s “cached” option to view the website, the text is visible in the cached view of the website.

Could you kindly let me know how the cache can be cleared so the updated article on the website can be viewed on the search engine normal and cached version?

    Regards,
    Sara

  • Hi there,

The “Cached pages” feature in Google searches is controlled by Google directly so we don’t have any insight into how long it takes them to update that since it’s dictated by the frequency with which the scan your site for updates on their end.

As a best practice, you can assume it will take 4-6 weeks for them to update the cache but if you have a blog that is very popular and has a lot of traffic it can be quite a bit less than that.

Thankfully, Google does provide some steps for getting something removed on their end, which you can learn more about here: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/advanced/crawling/remove-information

Typically this will require creating a Google Search Console account and linking it to your site to prove ownership. We cover how to connect with WordPress.com sites here: https://wordpress.com/support/webmaster-tools/#google-search-console

Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
