Calendar Plugin

  Hi there I am trying to upload a calendar plugin but am getting stuck before the option to upload. The site says:

  By proceeding you’ll lose these 2 features:
  Blogs I Follow: The Blogs I Follow Widget is an automated way to add a blogroll of sites that you follow via the WordPress.com Reader.
  Geotagging: WordPress.com allows you to geotag your posts and pages, which means you can attach a physical location to them.
  The errors above must be resolved before proceeding. Have questions? Please contact support.

  I am ok with losing those two features to be able to add a plugin but it will not let me proceed. Can anyone help. I do have the free website, as it is for a medical school group. Am I only allowed to upload plugins for sites that are paid for?

  To clarify, on WordPress.com, you can install plugins only if you are on the WordPress.com Business plan.

  If your WordPress.com site is on the free WordPress.com plan, you cannot install plugins.

  Have you looked at the Upcoming Events widget which can add an iCalendar to a free WordPress.com site? https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/upcoming-events/
