Calendar widget
-
Hi,
I’m Mark Ireland. I’m super new to wordpress and I was trying to install the calendar widget. I installed it and all it says is “Mark’s Calendar” at the bottom. Is it only supposed to just show this text or are they supposed to be able to view an actual calendar? Thanks so much for your help in advance!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Mark —
I took a look at what you’re saying — I am able to see the title of your Calendar Widget, but no Calendar. Re-producing it on my site with the same theme and Widget placement does show me a Calendar — which tells me you should be seeing one as well.
Taking a look at the source code for each of our pages, you are missing HTML that should be automatically generated by the WordPress application when you activate a Widget. As you do not have the ability to edit HTML, even if you elect to Customize your theme, that would seem to be a WordPress issue.
Before exploring that — have you tried deleting and re-creating the Widget? To do so:
1. Go to Appearance > Widgets
2. Open the Widget area in question (Footer Right in your theme)
3. Open the Widget in question (Mark’s Calendar in your case)
4. At the bottom of the Widget, select DeleteTo re-create that Widget, drag a new Calendar Widget into the Footer Right area and hit Save.
Hope that helps!

Seems to be something up with the Archives in the footer as well, and the code indicates there’s a FB widget in there too.
I suggest the OP remove all the footer widgets, then put them in the sidebar, not the footer, to see if they work there. Then try putting them in the footer.
Staff have been tinkering with some themes in the last couple of weeks, and some bugs have cropped up. This might be one of them.

Hey thanks for your comments. I’ll give your recommendations a try and see what happens.
Best,
