Calendar widget title in Neutra not appearing

  • Unknown's avatar

The title I typed into the calendar widget title box in Neutra is not appearing in my sidebar. Any thoughts? I’m at http://healingei.wordpress.com Thank you.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I see it right under the Top Posts widget using Firefox 3.6.2

May I also offer feedback on the color of the RSS feed icons? Here goes. IMO the fuschia pink color clashes with the red-/orange color accents in this theme.

The title I see on the calendar widget is “March”? Is that what you mean?

Thanks for the feedback on the pink color accents, I’ll turn them back to orange.:-)

No, I didn’t mean “March,” which I hope will still be there even with a title! What I put in the title space was something like “Monthly Archive.” Here’s one blog example I found with a title (Time Passes) above the calendar, but you have to scroll down to the bottom.

The widget allows for a title, but it just doesn’t show up. Don’t know if this is a theme thing or what.

    Thanks!!!

Looks like Neutra is currently setup to always hide the calendar widget title. It may just be part of the design choices for the theme, but I’ll check into it.

Thanks. Good to know I’m not just doing it wrong.

    @sandrapawula
I have checked this in my test blog and experience the same thing you do. The ability to insert a widget title in the Calendar Widget appears to be a “dead function”.

As always, thanks both of you for your help! Being a Virgo, these small details catch my eye. I love the new theme and am very grateful for the support you provide here on the forum.

Yes, the theme’s stylesheet says don’t display the calendar heading, You can drag a text widget above the calendar widget and put the title there.

Thanks for the idea. I used a text widget as you suggested and wrote a brief explanation to put your mouse on the lighter colored days to see title and click to read.

When I first saw a WordPress blog, I thought the calendar was great, but I had no idea it was actually connected to posts. For the clueless, like me, I thought this little explanation might help new readers. :)

  • @sandrapawula — We’ve fixed the Neutra theme so that the calendar widget displays a title. Thanks for reporting this!

Thanks Lance! Now, if you could also fix that pesky extra space that occurs after the icon when you post a link that opens in a new page, I would be in 7th Heaven and extraordinarily grateful.:-) It makes it look like there’s a gap in the flow of the text.

And, the lack of an indented list when you make a list with buttons/circles is also slightly irksome. So if you are in the mood to wrangle more….!!!! I’m not complaining, I just notice little details like this. I love WordPress.

Wow, you are the first official ‘theme wrangler’ I’ve met!
