calender, use of plugins, unique domain

Hello – trying to use a calender plugin with my wordpress blog for our restaurant website. i understand that I cannot use plugins with a wordpress hosted site, but my question is, am I able to install plugins if the blog is hosted under a domain separate from wordpress? That is, if I use my yahoo domain to host the blog, am I then able to install plugins?
Would love if a calender other than google calender were available for embed/use as the google calender doesn’t work with the site on mobile devices (I am sure this isn’t the first time you’ve heard this).

You can’t use plugins on any WordPress.com blog regardless of upgrades unless you’re in the $30,000 VIP program.
You can use the eventbrite widget or theme; try that and see if it works for you.

Oh that’s too bad. – will try eventbrite widget. Is it possible to use a widget on a page instead of the sidebar?
I am pretty much married to the confit theme for design/function reasons.

Eventbrite is not what I am looking for. What I need is a calender to display/embed on a page on which I can list upcoming events, performances, specials, etc.
I had thought I found this with the google calender embed, but that does not display properly when the site is viewed on a mobile device.
It seems that the web is full of wp users with the same problem…

You can hand-code a table in HTML, but as far as I’m aware that’s your only other option right now. You can make a table template, save it as a draft, and just copy it. Actually make two: one with 30 days and one with 31.
