Camino image handling problems
-
To circumvent the problems Safari has with the visual editor, I created a test post on my blog (started today) with Camino. No problems with coding, but Camino seems to have problems handling images on the actual page. I see the ‘alt’ text instead of an image. I also don’t see avatars in comments, only the grayed out head.
I’m using Leopard 10.5.1 on a Intel iMac and all builds of Safari, Firefox, Camino etc. are latest.
I didn’t notice anything on this in a search of forum posts.

I haven’t used Camino myself erasiel, but I have all kinds of issues with Safari unless I just use the “code” editor and Firefox works alright for me. Maybe I will try it out a little later and see if it causes problems for me as well!

Thanks for looking at this, trent.
Oddly enough, my avatar vanished entirely, so I reloaded it. Now I can see it in comments on Camino, but the image in the post is still the ‘alt’ text. An embedded YouTube link works fine though. Much weirdness.

More Camino weirdness: I right clicked on the ‘alt’ text and chose ‘view image’. Camino went to the image which displayed properly. When I hit the ‘back’ button, the image now displays properly in the page. When I hit ‘reload’, however, the ‘alt’ text is back. This same behavior occurred with an image loaded on a page put together by my co-administrator, so it’s not just something strange I’m doing in building pages.

I didn’t have any trouble viewing your blog with Camino erasiel. Maybe clearing your browser cache might help? Maybe it has something to do with your internet connection or a firewall on your computer?

Thanks again for taking the time, trent.
I’m guessing it’s not external to Camino, since I can see the images in other browsers (FF, Safari) on the same machine. I tried emptying my Camino cache, but that didn’t work. It’s weird that I don’t seem to have this problem with any other blog on WP.
