Can a blog be transferred when a domain on the account is expired?

  Can a blog be transferred to another account when a domain on the account is expired?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Sure, it is just like any other blog. Instead of being whatever.com it’s whateveritwasbefore.wordpress.com, and you use it like any other blog.

  Let me be a bit clearer. I purchased a domain through WordPress.com and created a blog. That domain has now expired. Can that blog still be transferred to another account even though the domain purchased through WordPress.com is expired?

  Yes.

  it is just like any other blog. Instead of being whatever.com it’s whateveritwasbefore.wordpress.com, and you use it like any other blog.

  What is unclear, except the underlying whatever.wordpress.com URL of the blog in question?

  The blog can be transferred, not sure that an expired domain name can. The domain name might be able to also be transferred to another user but for sure the domain name can’t be transferred to another registrar

  Right now, the transfer is not working, so I’m assuming they do not allow a blog to be transferred when the domain has recently expired.

  Also, I build websites for a living, and I understand domain issues. The problem is WordPress.com issues.

  Also, are there any reasons that a blog transfer would not go through? Both accounts involved in the transfer are active and working properly.

  The current owner of the underlying WordPress.com blog can transfer it to a new owner by following the instructions here:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-wordpress-com-user-or-account

  It looks like the domain has been renewed, so if the blog owner (and owner of that upgrade) wishes, after they have transferred the blog itself, they can post here to transfer the upgrade to the new owner and I’ll be happy to take care of that.
