Can a category be assigned to an already published post?

  I have forty posts none of which have been assigned a category. Is there a way for me to put them in categories now? What might you recommend since I am a late learner!

  Hello there!

  You can absolutely add categories after your posts have been published! Categories will help you organize your posts into topics.

  Here is information about Categories here at WordPress.com:
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/categories/

  If you’d like to give it a try, click here to open one of your posts:
  https://wordpress.com/post/69688567/240/?optin

  In the left-hand column, you’ll see this:
  https://cloudup.com/caeGwa9qpZr

  You can add your Category in this box, and then click Update to save the change.

  So much help! Thanks. My theme doesn’t pull up the “cloud” entry but it does allow the category space to be filled and updated. It will take a while before I can categorize all my posts but I did about eight or ten successfully. Again, thatrobyn, perfect help.
