Can a .com site be recognized as an affiliate marketer?

  My website developer is changing our current site over to a self-hosted site to market training videos. Can a WP.com site having a link to my website be recognized as the website bringing in an individual making a purchase?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
