Can a domain name be owned and not a valid domain?

my domain name shows it is owned by someone else on godaddy.com however when I type in the domain name nothing comes up.

Above it says you are asking about nomorecant.com. However, I can see that you have registered nomorecant.net on WordPress.com.
nomorecant.com is definitely owned by someone:
http://who.is/whois/nomorecant.com
It doesn’t seem to point anywhere. But domain registration is separate from having a webhost. Or they may have just messed up their nameservers or made some other DNS error that would cause the issue.
