Can a linked image be the 'feature' image for a post?

  I like to use Flickr for all my image management.

  Can I use a linked image (from Flickr) my feature image for a post, or can I only use an uploaded image in the media library?

  At the moment, I can only see how to use an image uploaded to my wp media library for ‘featured’ status in a post, but… well, I’d rather upload it once not twice.

  Please note linked blog here is not launched, still rough / working on it… don’t judge. :-)

  To use a featured image, it will indeed need to be uploaded to your media library.
