can a reader email a blogger?
-
Can someone who is reading a blog simply send an email, instead of leaving a comment on the blog? Like, if a reader wanted to communicate more privately with the blogger and not be visible to other readers?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That is only possible if
1) The blog owner has published an e-mail address on the blog
or
2) The blog owner has a contact form on the blog
or
3) The comments are moderated, by which the blog owner must look at and approve comments before they go public -
If the blogger wants it and has posted the email. Most don’t, because the idea of opening one’s self up to email conversation with the entire internet is a little overwhelming.
And it does NOTHING for hits. Bloggers like to feed their blogs. If they wanted a one-on-one relationship with their readers, they’d be on Facebook instead.

the erdoctor – when posting comments, the poster has to input an email address (not displayed on the blog), at which point, if they wish, you can email them and they you in return. It’s the way I do it, and it works well if comments are moderated.
Otherwise, as has been said, probably not.
rc – it’s not the entire Internet I mind, so much as the psychos! Which, at times, seem to BE the entire Internet. . .

I have moderated comments on my blogs. I also have a contact form. However, I do not encourage any reader to expect that I will provide them with blogging support in privacy. When I receive contact requests for help I post both the questions and the answers on related posts on my blog.

@tt Me too – if anyone ask for information by email, I’ll do it, on the understanding that it’s published too, for the benefit of others (and so I won’t have to write it again if someone else asks!). If they wanted email for confidentiality, I’ll remove their name from the comment.
