Can a school club receive a discount on an upgrade?
-
Our school’s robotics club is creating a website for our new team. This is our rookie year and our funds are limited. We would like to upgrade to gain access to additional options as we build our site, but most of the money is going toward building our robot. Is there a student discount available for school organizations?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No. We all pay exactly the same amount and we pay at the time of purchase. There is no ordering by purchase order or invoice.

Below are the only accepted means of payment.
WordPress.com uses PayPal as the payment processor, and as such, can only accept payment from countries they support: https://www.paypal.com/worldwide/
If for whatever reason, they have chosen to block payment from your country, you will not be able to purchase an upgrade here unless you have a source of payment outside of your country.
In addition to major credit cards Mastercard, VISA, American Express, Discover, and PayPal https://www.paypal.com/worldwide/ WordPress.com can accept echecks and some debit cards.
The debit card must have a VISA or Mastercard symbol on it, and should work just like a credit card when selecting the VISA or Mastercard option on the payment form, even though it’s a debit card.
More about echecks here:

@TT – since they are from Ayer and Shirley Massachusetts in the US., I doubt the how to pay is a problem with a credit card
You should be able to do a nice site without an upgrade, a friend helps a Robotic group. From what I can remember last year the only non stock feature would be putting videos on your site – but you can do that for FREE – use Vimeo or YouTube for the videos and both service embed easily.
The only upgrade that you might want to think about is the No Ads Upgrade $ 30.0 / year) – WordPress.com sometimes puts ads on sites to help pay the bills.
You can also look at EduBlogs, set up for teachers, but not as much storage, they don’t have ads, in some ways not as many features as here for a basic blog

See: http://edublogs.org
Edublogs lets you easily create & manage student & teacher blogs, quickly customize designs and include videos, photos & podcasts – it’s safe, easy and secure. The site runs on the same WordPress software we do here ie. wpMU (wordpress multiuser). However, the site is specifically set up for teachers and students. All edublogs are are advertising free, whereas our blogs here at WordPress.com are not ad-free, unless we buy an annually renewable No-Ads upgrade.

@TT 0 I looked at Mr. ASAP – every thread they had someone tried to help them – so not sure what they were complaining about, but not our fault if whatever they wanted to do can’t be done here – Oh well –
