Can add Adsense, Javascript to free WordPress?
-
This is such a headache. WordPress got some things and functions that is better than Blogger.
But the problem is I unable or don’t how to add Adsense to a free WordPress blog.
I not sure whether this blog will succeed in attracting traffic. I don’t want to spend money on a paid domain name and web hosting.
I also don’t know how to choose a web hosting.
Can we have the best of both worlds, add Adsense, Javascript and some other 3rd party functionality to a free WordPress blog?
Or a free WordPress blog can add Adsense and code for some other advertising networks like Text Link Ads, Aunction Ads, etc. ?
Or, It’s just that I haven’t figure out how.
Anyone, please help.

No, you can’t add any of those things. Please do a forum search for Adsense (there are three threads on it on the front page alone right now) and another for Javascript, or maybe look at the FAQs.
Commercializing your WordPress.com hosted blog by hosting paid advertising is against the terms of service and will result in your blog being deleted.
If you want to make money, you’ve got to spend money. That’s the way capitalism works.

From the FAQs http://faq.wordpress.com/2005/12/08/adsense/

raincoaster, yah you are right.
But from my country this is quit difficult to contact WP for paid hosting and if this is possible this is big amount for me to paid wp for thier paid hosting service, becoz here we got more cheaper then wp. Though i have an interest to buy hosting space from wp. i love wp :-)

If you want to pay WordPress for hosting, the only option is the VIP pricing, which is several hundred dollars a month. Frankly, I think they set it that high so people don’t ask very often. But you can download WordPress software as TT said for free, and then find a cheaper blog host.
-
Correct
That’ll be best to have own hosting and install wordpress in it.(most webhost have one click install feature for wordpress.)

I must be breaking all the rules. I’m just trying to make a living. I link only to the sites I have. Seems so easy for some….. me too I hope. :)
-
Yes, you are breaking all the rules and you’ve been reported for it. I’ve reported four people today for breaking the Terms of Service.
If you want to do business, there are innumerable ways to do that. THIS is not one of them.
-
*SHOCK* Better not do that. Folks will start coming into the forums and questioning your motives, your expertise and your “manhood”
Only four?…

Bring ’em on. The last ones were delicious.
Only four because one was a digital camera outfit that was autoposting and basically responsible for 80% of the most recently updated list all last night.

Doesn’t take long, eh?
T’was a perfectly nice blog, with some decent posts. But ALL the links were to moneymakers for her. That’s all it takes.
-
Really? Looking at the Google cache, the last date on it was Jan 24th, and I didn’t notice anything.

I thought can add Adsense and other types on Monetization options cause Johnchow.com, Problogger.net and DoshDosh.com recommends WordPress Blogging platform and I saw a lot of advertisements and affiliate links to other websites on their blogs. Their blogs seemed to be WordPress pattern.
Also, I thought there is a lot of plugins for WordPress as recommended by them that makes adding the monetization options easier.
So I need to find my own web host and install the WordPress software from WordPress.org on it?
-
wordpress.com is hosting of free blogs using WordPress MU (multi-user). It is not the normal wordpress software that you can download and then put on another host. That is what the other things you are talking about. For what you want, you need that and not a free blog on wordpress.com because that is not allowed here ;)

Please clarify for me. I’ve searched the TOS for WP and do not see anywhere that says “no ads allowed”. Then there’s this, that seems to encourage ads: http://codex.wordpress.org/Plugins/Advertisement I’m confused!
I have a WP blog, and have paid to upgrade to a domain of my own, hosted thru WP.Questions:
1. Can I place ads on this site?
2. HOW do I do so? Adding script to posts or text widgets results in part of the html being stripped. (same thing happens when I try to put in a stat counter)My site is: http://liveukulele.com/

1) No
2) N/AThat codex you’re looking at is for independently-hosted blogs using WordPress.org software.
