Can administrators communicate w/ editors/authors/contributors in dashboard?
-
Is there a way for administrators to communicate with blog editors/authors/contributors directly through the dashboard? Or for all with those specific roles to be able to communicate with one another?
Example:
I administrate a blog for our church. If I’ve just posted something important from our rector (pastor/priest) – I’d love to be able to leave a “sticky note” requesting that others hold their posts for a day or two so his post doesn’t immediately get bumped down. Thanks,
JenniferThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There is no internal chat feature. You can of course create password protected or private posts or pages but that’s it. I suggest you email the others.
-
Another alternative is to create a separate blog for chatting in and use the P2 theme on it which is a twitter like theme.

Thanks for your suggestions. I appreciate your time!
Emailing the others would only work if they happen to check their email before posting on the blog.
I’m trying to understand how creating a separate blog for chatting would help… Please forgive me – I’m new to this blog thing!

If a person is a User on both blogs, it is very simple to click over while logged into your account to the second blog and see what others have left for comments, remarks, instructions, requests etc. But yes if someone does not check their email or the Chat blog then they will not be up to date, you can’t force someone to stay up to date
The second blog can work well, I have been in groups were the P2 blog was used to keep people informed, worked well

All too true!!! And one of the first things I learned as Director of Communication here at the church… Doesn’t seem to stop me from trying. :)
Thanks for sharing your experience. I may give a second blog a try – especially as we add authors and contributors to our main blog.

You be welcome & good luck
Easy to set up a second blog with P2 on it and invite users to it, so even if only a few people use it the setup does not take much time
