Can anyone comment on blog on page set as private?

1. I just received an e-mail that I should allow a comment on my blog to be published. But this site is set to private mode. How can this person have reached the site, although it is not visible for the public? Is it possible that somebody commented on a blog on a page which is set on private mode? Has my site been hacked?
2. Does WordPress make their own E-mail-adresses on my E-Mail-account? The sender was WordPress@[mydomain.de]. I only have one adress which is info@[mydomain.de].

The only way for someone to comment on a private blog/blog page is if comments are enabled on the blog and that person has been invited to view the blog:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/#privacy-options
Is this user authorized to view the site or was the pending comment made before you set the site to private, perhaps?
2. You would’ve received an email from
(email visible only to moderators and staff)most likely. Would be interested in taking a look at that email you received. Can you take a screenshot of it and upload it to your media library? -

thank you for answering so quickly. No, I invited nobody to view anything, I didn’t even know about that possibility. The user is stevea, (email visible only to moderators and staff) with an American IP-adress, I don’t know him.
Two months ago the page was published for 5 hours when I started to work on it , but since then it has always been private. The comment is from yesterday.

Thanks for the screenshot, that’s a great help. The email you’ve received is actually for a comment on
von-bechtolsheim.de— this site uses WordPress.org software with another host:It no connection to WordPress.com and is visible to the public, which is why someone was able to submit a comment for moderation.
dineconnect.wordpress.com is hosted on WordPress.com and marked private.
