Can category pages be displayed in excerpt form rather than full posts? How?

  I’ve created a menu using my categories and would like my posts in these tabs to display as excerpts rather than full posts. I’ve searched how to do this and saw instruction on altering the category.php files, etc, but I can’t even find these files on the Adelle theme (I’m new and not sure where to even look). If someone can tell me how to do this, I would be much appreciative.

  Hi there! The instructions you found online are only for self-hosted sites. Since your site is hosted at WordPress.com, we have another solution for you. You can utilize the Read More tag. Here’s some information to set that up:

  Thanks! It’s my understanding that the Read More function will cause both the post in the main feed and the archives to be cut off. I was only wanting to have a summary of my posts in my categories section, but full posts in my home feed. Is there a way to do this or is it pretty much all or nothing?
