can contributors add images to posts

  I am developing a school blog and want the pupils to act as contributors to the site. Some of them may wish to add images for reports on the different issues that we are looking at. Is it possible for them to add images to their posts which would then be moderated by an administrator prior to being published? or should they be entered as authors with restricted access? What do I do?
