can create a child domain inside the main domain
-
I have one main domain and I want to set the other 4-5 child domain with this main domain, is this possible with the same Business Plan ?
I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

Hi there:
Can you give us more information about the end result you want to achieve? Do you want these subdomains to point to different pages on your site or will those subdomains have their own WordPress install and content? Or is it something else entirely? Once we have that information, we’ll be better able to advise.
Thanks!

Hi,
Subdomains have their different files. Every subdomain serves different pages and its own WordPress content and installation.

Hello there,
Many thanks for that additional information.
For this, an additional business plan would be required.

Hello –
Our hosting plans will each cover 1 site. It sounds like you could use a site redirect to point all of them to that one site.
You would need a business plan: https://wordpress.com/pricing/
And then each site pointing to the main one needs a site redirect:

As I understand if I have the example.com, abc.example.com, xyz.example.com for each domain I have to go with separate plan right ?
Each domain have the different content in that case site-redirect will work?

If the domains were under the same site, the redirect would be applied to the primary custom domain, which would be one single site.

Thanks for reply,
suppose I have 4 different domain, so if I go with 4 business plan, then how this 4 domains pointed to wordpres.com ?
Means which kind of entry required to add in our DNS side ?
Is SSL is free for business plan ?

Hi there –
Yes, SSL is included with domain purchases and all hosting plans through WordPress.com. No need to worry about that.
There’s a few different ways to connect your domains to WordPress.com.
– mapping: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/connect-existing-domain/
– transfer: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/incoming-domain-transfer/The benefit of a domain transfer is that your hosting and domains are now all being handled in one space. If the domains are mapped here instead, then you have to renew your annual registration through that registrar still.
I would go ahead and buy your business plan and connect your domain (example.com). Then we can sort out the best way to connect the remaining subdomains. It’s not clear to me if all of these subdomains should also load the main page from example.com – or if they are showing a variation of that page, or a different page all together.
