Can CSS be used to move 'Featured Content' from from one page to another?

    Hello there,

    I’m using the Expound theme and I’ve upgraded to the customized format. I was hoping to have a static page as my home page, and display ‘Featured Content’ on the static page. The featured content for Expound is displayed above the posts in the Posts page, and I would like to move it so that it appears in the Home page without displaying all the other posts below it. I would be very grateful if someone could tell me how I would go about moving Featured Content in Expound. Is there an CSS code that would enable me to do it?

    The blog I need help with is this one: http://www.charliecastor.wordpress.com

    Thanks

    I see you are using the Twenty Fourteen theme.

    On Expound, if you are entertaining switching to that theme, there is no way to move the featured content to another page. CSS can be used to style what is already on a web page, but cannot be used to add functionality.

    Thanks for your reply. After fiddling around for a while, I decided to switch from Expound over to Twenty Fourteen, as I was able to have featured content on the front page with that one. Thanks for letting me know about what you can and can’t do with CSS. I’m new to editing websites and things, so I appreciate your tips.

    Hello,

    Can I use CSS to remove the Featured Content from Expound?
    My blog is http://mycupofdigital.ro/

    Thank you

    Do you want to remove all the featured content (top full width and the four below it, or just the 4 below it or…? The following removes all 5 (top and 4 below).

    .featured-content, .featured-content-secondary {
        display: none;
    }

    The problem with the above, is that your latest 5 posts, the ones in the featured content, end up not showing up. I’m checking into this to see if it is possible to get them to show up in a normal blog flow.

    @ohannaberea, I just chatted with the theme designer of Expound, and there is no way to hide the featured content and have the 5 posts that were shown there appear in the normal flow of posts, so the above CSS solution will not work.
