Can I add a sidebar without disrupting the layout of posts?
-
I forgot to include a sidebar when I originally created my blog and want to add one now. However, when I select the 2 column option of my theme (Adventure Journal) the sidebar takes up space on the page and disrupts the layout of all my past posts. The pictures slide around and text columns become super tiny. I really do not want to re-layout all 40 some posts. IS there a way around this?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Thanks so much for confirming the relevant link. Note there is no “www” though. It’s http://moments2012.wordpress.comWill you please link you username to the active blog? Dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to Account Details. Then scroll down to where it says ‘Primary Blog‘ select the URL for your primary wordpress.com blog and then save changes.
Then every time you sign into the forum we can all click on your username and your blog will be linked to it. And every time you leave a comment on a blog your username can be likewise clicked and your blog can be instantly located.

I don’t know why choosing the 2 column layout would result in what you describe unless you used some sort of HTML coding in the posts that’s causing this, so I tagged this thread for Themes Staff to address that issue for you. Please subscribe to this thread so you are notified when they respond.

When you switch from one column to two, then of course the layout will change, since the main column becomes narrower (for example, two images you had placed side-by-side may no longer fit, or ten lines of text next to an image will become fifteen narrower lines). What else would you expect? When you insert images, the size you select depends on the width of the main column; for a different width you need differently sized images.
