Can I add an “Edit” link to my posts? My theme does not have it…

I have recently changed themes. With my old theme, when I was logged in and looking at my blog, there was an “edit” link at the top of the post. I could click it to link directly in to the back end so I could edit my post without having manually log in and navigate to the post I want to edit etc.

My new theme does not have this. I’m wondering if its possible for me to add this? Is there some code I could add, or a widget perhaps?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Have you looked in different places for the Edit link? It’s in every theme of which I’m aware, just in different places. It will, if course, NEVER appear if you are not logged in, no matter what theme you use.

With some themes, you may need to click on the individual post to see the ‘edit’ link. For example, when I used to use the Pool theme, the ‘edit’ link appeared on the main blog page, but now that I use the Contempt theme, I have to click on the post I’d like to edit before I can change it.

    That’s a good point.
