Can I add an "email me" widget?
-
Hi anyone know if I can add an “email me” widget/button to my blog? I’d like to allow people to contact me directly by email…. thank you!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

See here:

oh thank you for replying……but, I think I’m being thick! Can’t figure out how to add a contact form as is, let alone transforming it into a text widget!! Oh sorry.
Any chance of an idiot’s guide?! -
If you just want an E-mail address link in a widget:
1.Add a text widget with the code:
<a href="mailto:youremailaddress">Email Me</a>replacing “youremailaddress” with your actual address.

You can follow the instructions in the link Panos gave in the post above by making a draft post. When you have the form as you want it, save and then switch to the html editor. Copy all the code then go to Appearance—>Widgets and add a text widget to your sidebar. Open it and paste the code into the widget. Save.Putting your email into your sidebar is spam bait: better to use the contact form.

This page > Settings > Discussion
Discussion settings is where you set up defaults for comments. We can also override the default settings and enable or disable future comments on any post or page.
Depending on the theme we use when we close comments a phrase like “comments closed” or a similar phrase may appear and if so, it can only be removed by CSS editing after purchasing a custom design upgrade.
