Can I add animation?

  Can I add an animated segment (for example, a logo animation movie exported from Adobe Aftereffects) to a WordPress.com site that will run automatically?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi Richard, if your file is an animated GIF, you can embed it into a post or page by following the instructions on the Add Media document.

  If the file is a video, you can also embed it, but the specific instructions will depend on which service the video is hosted with (VaultPress, Vimeo, etc). Please see the Videos page for instructions for each service.

  Thanks. What I’m looking to do is have an animation play automatically, and loop, when someone comes to the blog. I have the Video Press upgrade.

  VideoPress does have an auto-play option; for example:

  [wpvideo w0MiG12E autoplay=true]

  There isn’t currently a looping option, though.

  If it’s just a logo, then an animated GIF might be a better option than a video, since they play automatically and loop. You can find resources for creating those by searching online. Once you’ve created one, you can insert it into a post/page/widget/etc the same way that you would any other image (see http://en.support.wordpress.com/add-media/ for details).
