can i add colour to the text on Parament theme?

I’m using the Parament theme to create a website. It is essential a dark background theme and the body copy comes out in white. But it is difficult to create some stand-out on the text; if i embolden words it is almost imperceptible from the standard copy. Is it possible for me to add a colour to some of the text eg sub-headings without having to purchase the custom design upgrade? if so how?

If the text you want to edit is within the content of a post or page you can wrap that text inside a <span> tag and add inline css.

When composing open the text tab and do something like this:

    Body text, bla bla bla.
    <span style="color:#ccccff;font-size:48px;">Special Style</span>
    The next paragraph.

    Thanks mrdirby
I’m not completely sure what to do, having never done css before. In the example you quoted if i wanted to, say, colour the words bla bla bla (with colour code #F87217) what exactly would I need to add and where?

If you are using the Visual Editor on your posts or Pages, click the last button on the toolbar (Kitchen Sink) and a second row will appear. Select text and choose a color or font/size to change the look and feel of the text.

You may also choose the dropdown menu to create Headings which are styled in the design of the WordPress Theme for section headings (subtitles) in your posts or Pages. Experiment with the heading options, from h1 to h5 or h6, to see which work best within the posts for the look you want. That is the BEST option, better than coloring the text or forcing it to be a different size or bold.

    Thanks.
