can I add descriptive text to an image gallery?

  I know how to add captions; what I don’t know is how to enter a short par. describing the gallery’s origins.
  How is this done, please?

  Hi there – I’d just add that into the actual body of your post or page, above or below the gallery. If that doesn’t answer your question, can you please link me to a specific example of this and describe a bit more how you’d like it to look, so I can better understand what you’re trying to do? Thanks! :)

  Thanks very much! I think I made a mistake by creating the gallery first, because afterwards it was quite impossible to … ahh .. get back in to the page. And it was a Page as opposed to a Post: would that make any difference?
  I suppose the basic question is: can one set up a gallery in a Page?
