Can i add other peoples banners or links?

i’m hosted on wordpress, and i know you can’t put ads on your website, but if i were to exchange links with another website and they ask me to put there banner or link on blogroll can i do that without getting in trouble from wordpress

It would be much easier to respond to you if you gave us links to specific examples of what your mean.You can place their url’s as links in your blogroll. You can place badges and buttons in text widgets. You cannot display anything that is an advertisement designed to drive traffic to 3rd party sites on a wordpress.com blog.

Ok, so i can obviously put the other websites link in my blogroll, i can place buttons and badges like little logos, but nothing like a small banner. I thought it would be fine to put the other blogs banner on my site because i’m not getting paid but simply exchanging links or banners if you will.

It’s an iffy thing; there are whole syndicates of link-swappers, and for those kinds of things staff needs to make the call. You’ve got about twenty minutes before Support closes, so why not ask them directly, using the Support button on your Dashboard? Better safe than sorry.
