Can I add plugins for WordPress.com sites?

  WordPress.com: I want to be able to plugins

  Is this possible?
  I guess not – the option is not there

  I thought I’d ask anyway

  Some of the things I want are really simple – like being able to have a shortcode for putting a horizontal line – like using [hr] or to use columns
  (Yes, I know I can go into the HTML – but that’s not the point – I don’t want to HAVE to do that!)

  No, it’s not possible to use plugins.

  Yes, it’s possible to use columns. You just have to put all your content in a table.

  No, you have to hand-code it or use an online Table generator.

  i might as well not use wordpress and hand write everything
  heck, no need to use a compute r- just keep notes written on paper :)

  Windows Live Writer does tables – free and runs on Windows machines – if you have a Mac there are editors that will work on a Mac – make your Post or Page then upload it to your blog

  Why don’t you just use DePo Masthead, which already has columns?

  are we going backwards in the usage of technology!

  i want to use a browser. nothing else. i don’t want to install anything extra

  depo masthead – just looked at. just activated
  that has columsn in the design
  i’m sure i cant use this within the editor??
