Can I add posts to a subcategory in my menu?
-
Hello!
I’m creating a book review website, and I was wondering if it’s possible for me to create a subcategory in my menu and add posts to that. For example, if this is my menu:
Home Posts Contact
and I want to add a subcategory for my Posts section called fantasy and allow all my readers to access those reviews from there, can I do that? So then it would look like this:
Posts
Fantasy
Mystery
Thrillerand so on, then the reader is able to select the genre they want from the main menu. Is that even possible?
I’ve also seen people have a page where they link all their posts. It would look something like this:
Mystery:
Book review: so-and-so by so-and-soand have that be a link to their post. Can I do that? (I guess it would kind of be an archive?) I don’t like the look of the category menu on my site. Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hey there,
Is that even possible
Absolutely! You can use categories or tags to organize your posts, if you haven’t already.
Then you’d build your menu to link to that post or tag’s archive page:
https://wordpress.com/support/menus/add-categories-to-a-menu/OR, if you want to build your own pages depending on the category, use the blog posts block in your layouts, and opt to only display items from that particular tag or category:
https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/blog-posts-block/And you’d publish and add those pages to your menu as you’d like.
Does that help?

This may help too, by the way. Tags and categories are great for organizing your site, and for connecting to others:
