Can I add sidebars to the Heminway format?
-
I would prefer a format with a sidebar that allows viewers to see headlines of other postings. Ideally, I’d like TWO sidebars, one of which could focus on science & tech, the other on writing. Is this available among the free format offerings? I also like the large photo display of my current format, Hemingway.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No, you can’t do that for free on Hemingway. I don’t think you can even do that with the Custom Design upgrade.
-
Okay, then is there any free theme with a large photo that can accommodate two sidebars? If not, is there a theme that I can upgrade to get that?
-
-
I found a few that look possible. If I press the “use this theme” button, do my existing posts migrate over from the current blog to the new themed version?
-
Yes, they do. Always Preview first to make sure that it looks good. Then hit Activate if you like what you see. Generally if you go from narrower to wider theme there are zero problems and reformatting; if you go the other way, there are sometimes problems and you have to reformat posts.

I am trying to customize Modularity Lite. I want sidebars. When I click that, I get a message: “The sidebar option in Modularity Lite is currently deactivated but it can be activated from >Appearance > Theme Options. How do I find that?

This is the link to the Hemingway Rewritten detailed theme description page https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/hemingway-rewritten/ and this is the link to the live demo site https://hemingwayrewrittendemo.wordpress.com/
Note there is a single sidebar on the right hand side.
The main column width is 676.
The sidebar width is 286.On static Pages you can choose to have no sidebar display by choosing the Full Width Template.

Is there a way to choose the order my posts appear? I would like one of my older posts to always be in the number 1 position. I’m working with Modularity Lite. Also, can I add font tweaks like bold, Italics, etc?
-
You can make a post a sticky post.

My home page has a tiny headline and the text is in large type, with no paragraph breaks. I tried forcing breaks, but they disappear in the actual post. I even pasted a special symbol at the beginning of each paragraph, but could not control the text enough to at least start a desired line with that symbol. In two cases, the symbol was at the end of a line. I’d like a larger headline and smaller type that I can break into paragraphs. I also would like this head-and-text to be static, but with visible posts below. Is this possible in Modular Lite? Or any other free theme? Here’s a link, tho I don’t know if it will take you there: https://authordavidwolf.wordpress.com/
