Can I attach an existing domain name to a hosted WordPress.com blog?
-
I work for an educational institute and want to set up a public blog for one of our departments. We’re considering upgrading to a business plan that will allow us to add a custom domain. (https://store.wordpress.com/plans/)
It would be great if we could use a sub-domain of our existing .edu domain for the blog. Is that possible, or would we have to register a separate domain as our custom domain?
Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

PS – Domain Mapping can be purchased stand alone for $13.-/yr
But the Premium Plan at $99.-/yr might be a better value if you don’t need the e-commerce part of the Business Plan – both have the No Ads upgrade that many schools like
