Can I backup my blog?
-
I know I can do an export. If everything somehow went pear-shaped, how would I get back up and running?
Apologies if this has been discussed to death, but I could not find something suitable in the search.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Use the Export Function: http://en.support.wordpress.com/export/
Wrote your Posts on your PC with something like Windows Live Writer then upload the Post then you have a local copy of what you write. (Or write in a plain text editor and paste the text into the Post)
Put your pictures in one section on your PC so you have everything easy to find, upload from this central location, easier to find.

Thanks. So re-import and then manually rebuild any media libraries would be the process right?

You should be able to export/import your pictures as well. And don’t forget about your blogroll:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/blogroll/import-export-links/It is actually a good idea to export / import your blog to another (private) test blog, especially as a new user, because that will allow you to experiment with different themes without messing up your live blog. Who knows but the next new theme they introduce might just tempt you to give it a try!
